Kirsten's Confession

The day that Kirsten tried out Kit's camera something happened.

Kirsten got cold and wanted to get inside really quick, but as she turned to go inside she dropped the camera.  Not just did she drop it, but she stepped on it!
"AH!  Oh boy,  I don't want Kit to find out what I did,"  she thought to herself.
She picked up the camera and ran inside to see what damage she did.  She was able to close the camera so she thought that maybe the damage was not bad.  She decided not to tell Kit.
However IT WAS BAD when Kit did find out.
It was a quiet Tuesday afternoon.  Josephina and Kirsten were playing tic-tac-toe.

Kit was in the other room and she got out her camera.  It was then she noticed that something wasn't right.

"KIRSTEN!!!" she yelled.  Josephina got up and ran out of the room.
"Uh-oh, Kit's in a mad rage, and I am out of here!" Josephina said.
"And it's all my fault,"  Kirsten replied.
Kit walked into the room.

She did NOT look thrilled at all.
" What in the world did you do to my camera when you took it out the other day?"
Kirsten had to tell her the truth.
" Well, I got cold so I went to go inside.  When I did, I dropped the camera and accidently stepped on it.  I didn't think that to much damage was done to it."

"Well, one of the screws has to be broken because it does't open as easy." Kit said.
"I'm sorry.  I might be able to take it somewhere to get it repaired." Kirsten said.
She was able to get it repaired and Kit was happy.  Kirsten was also happy because she told Kit the truth.

Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds.
Colossians 3:9

Author's Note:
I, Bess, did actually drop the camera in the snow and forgot all about it.  When I took a step back I heard a crunch.  The first thing that popped into my head was, "I'm not holding the camera!"  I didn't want to turn around.  When I did, I saw the camera laying in the snow.  I picked it up and ran inside.  I only had it for two weeks and I didn't want it to be broken!  I am able to close it, but you have to be gentle with it.  One of the screws is broken so it doesn't close as easily as it should.   At least that was all that happened to it!

Kirsten Tries Kit's Camera On a Snowy Day

It was a snowy afternoon and Kirsten wanted to take some pictures.  She picked up Kit's camera hoping that she wouldn't mind.  Then she buttoned up her coat and put on her hat.

But there was something wrong.  Kirsten didn't know how to work the camera!
" Boy did Kit make this look easy!" Kirsten thought.
After a little while of being in a state of confusion,  she finally figured it out.

She started snapping.

It was very cold outside, and Kirsten couldn't wait to get back inside for a nice, warm cup of hot cocoa.

How To Make a Doll Headband

Today I'm going to show you how to make a doll headband.
These are very simple to make, and it doesn't take much time at all.

All you need is:
~ Material that is 3" wide and 10" long.
~ A hair tie
~ Sewing machine
First you fold your material in half with your right sides together. Then sew all the way down.

After that you turn it inside out.  Then iron it so that your line where you sewed is in the middle.

This is going to be the bottom of the headband.
After that take your ends and fold them up~but just a little.

Next, fold it again over the hair tie and sew.

Once you do that to both sides your done!  Now your doll has a new headband!  These make great gifts.  I've made a doll size one and a girl size to match for my friends.

Felicity Shows Off a New Dress

My friend gave me a beautiful dress for my dolls for Christmas.  What's even better is that she made it.  I love handmade gifts.
Well, the girls wanted to show you the new dress. They were fighting over who was going to model it.   But they came to an agreement that Felicity would do it.

The dress is a very pretty color.

My friend did a very good job making this.

It looks like something you could buy from American Girl.
The girls love it and they're very happy to have it.  I'm very thankful to have such nice friends!

Welcome to my blog!
I am very excited to share with you my photos and creative projects I do with my American Girl Dolls.
I recently went to the American Girl store for a friends birthday party.

We had SO much fun!

American Girl thinks of every detail.
After we finished eating we all set out to shop.
It took us a while to decide what to buy. My Aunt and Uncle gave me an American Girl gift card for Christmas, and I could not wait to spend it!!
I finally decided to get Kit's reporter set. Last year when I went, I bought her reporter dress.
This set of accessories is so neat.
The camera has a lot of detail to it. It almost looks real!
Her pen has a lid to it.  At first I wasn't expecting it to open.
Once I opened it I was taken back with how real it looks.  It
even has her name on it.
Of course every reporter needs a notebook.
The set also came with a bundle of ten newspapers.
Kit's story is right on the front page too!
This mini newspaper looks like a real one.
Before we left, we spotted some really cute T-shirts.  They had enough that were just the right size for
all of us. So we all got matching shirts.
It was a great day, filled with giggles and chatter of friends.
