Photo Tip Tuesday- Week 4

This week I wanted to share some ideas for different backgrounds.
As you may have already seen the tip from last week, you want to clear the clutter when taking pictures.
Well, you have around you many different backgrounds.
It may be a wall, a blanket etc.
I will show you three different things that I used to get these pictures.

Remember this picture?
A brick wall can make the perfect background!

Clothes can be a nice background as well.

I put my hair-clip on my skirt, zoomed in, and voila!
Also, a nice piece of wood comes in handy too.

There are a lot more, you just have to be creative!!!

Photo Tip Tuesday- Week 3

This week's tip is geared more towards blogging.
When you make a project and want to share some pictures of it, clear the clutter in the background.

In the above picture, I wanted to show you the flower that I made out of paper.
But if you look at the picture, your eye is drawn to so many other things in the background.
Keep things simple.  Take a minute or two to clean up the things around you.  It makes for a better picture and helps the people who are looking at it, to be focused more on the project and not the things surrounding it.

Photo Tip Tuesday-Week 2

This week I wanted to talk about your background.
When taking pictures, your background is extremely important.
For some people, thinking about the background is not the first thing that comes to mind.  However, one of the ways to get better pictures is to check your background.
Here I have some sample pictures that I went outside and took.

As you can see in the above picture, there are trash cans and a recycling bin.  That doesn't make a very nice picture, does it?

For this one, I zoomed in more, and I was able to get more of the grass in and no trash cans.

We live in town, so there is a nice street out front.  Okay, it isn't that nice for pictures.......

If you live near a street, be sure not to get any cars in your pictures.
I do this all of the time.  It is always a good thing to look back at your pictures:)

One last thing.
When you are taking pictures of people, be sure to watch what shows up on their head.
Here is a picture of my brother with some nice, pretty pink flowers sticking out of his head!

While taking the pictures it may not seam like anything is there, but when you look back at them, you can find many people with head accessories!
So, watch your backgrounds!

Photo Tip Tuesday-Week 1

So the first thing that we will be talking about to get better pictures, is flash.
Some people prefer to use flash all of the time because they think that it will help their pictures.
I, on the other hand, do not use flash on most of my pictures.
If you are shooting somewhere that already has pretty good lighting, I would turn the flash off.
Some people can't really see the difference between a picture with flash and a picture without flash.
I think that if you don't use flash, your pictures will have a softer look to them.  The flash brings out a lot of the shadows in your picture and makes your subject look like it is in weird lightning.
Here are some sample pictures.  The first one is the one with flash, and the last one is the one without the flash.

Do you see the difference?

Again, for most of my pictures I turn the flash off.
Natural light is a lot better than flash:)
